Superior
Hardwoods and Millwork, Inc. began some twenty-eight (28) years ago when John
Medlinger, founder and president, logged maple and birch in Michigan's upper peninsula,
not far from Lake Superior. He worked in all aspects of the logging operation:
sawing, skidding, and hauling. During that time, he learned to mill raw logs into
finished lumber. He then shipped the milled hardwoods to Montana's lumberyards
and cabinet shops. With this step, Superior Hardwoods and Millwork, Inc. became
the first wholesale hardwood company to serve the "treasure" state.
This vision led to the establishment of a millwork facility and warehouse.
On 4 July 1995, a fire destroyed the mill shop and warehouse. Although
a total loss, John quickly planned for the return of Superior Hardwoods and Millwork.
Now located on the south side of Missoula on 4+ acres, Superior Hardwoods and
Millwork boasts a 10,000 sqft. temperature controlled warehouse, 3+ acres of reclaimed
material, and a new 3,000 sqft. mill shop. Superior Hardwoods and Millwork continues
to provide quality products at competitive prices with excellent service to Missoula
and the rest of Montana and the Pacific Northwest. | |
